GPS 76c or 76cs for Australia

I'm looking at some GPS's for my dad who does a lot of 4WD trips he wants a colour screen what would you recommend

There's four that I would recommend:-

- Garmin GPSMap 76C
- Garmin GPSMap 76CS
- Garmin GPSMap 60C
- Garmin GPSMap 60CS

Ask him whether he wants sensors. E.g. a proper electronic compass compared to one that requires you to be travelling in a direction to get it's compass position off of GPS. Likewise does he want a proper barometric altimeter.

If the answer to one or both is yes, then he will need a GPSMap 76CS or GPSMap 60CS (S denotes Sensor) and C obviously is Colour.

My dad tells me he doesn't need a colour screen so what are the other 76 models like?

The 76 and 76S are good devices. They're a mono screen. The GPSMap76 will suffice for most uses, but if he needs a proper electronic compass or barometric altimeter then he'll need the 76S.
