hi everyone. iv just gone and bought a Dell axim x30 Pda which i must say im impressed with, anyway i decided to buy some navigation software and go for the sat nav. so i bought TomTom software and then bought a Emtac crux bluetooth GPS receiver, No the problem, the X30 connects to the GPS just fine via the bluetooth but the navigation system and GPS software will not pick any signal back ie no location given. My line of sight is spot on adn im getting v.frustrated. have i got a compatability isse here between the X30 and GPS receiver.

Can you please try a GPS utility (like WinFast Navigator or Crux_View) . You may have to de-install the TomTom GPS driver to get those to work. Once they are ok, you can re-install teh TomTom GPS driver v2.07 (from our downloads page) _________________ Lutz

I had a similar problem, then I discovered the snag with the help of the guys on this site, Q. When you installed tomtom did you tell it that you were using another type of GPS receiver. Once you tell it you have the option to select your receiver and com port and connection baud rate. I chose emtec comport 8 and baud 38400 tomtom then worked but kicked up an error on the bluetooth manager. I did as Lutz said and uninstalled tomtom~gps and installed driver 207 from the downloads section on this site. everything works ok now.
hope this helps
Good luck

When your friend connects to the BT receiver, does he get a position as well? Please verify with him if he is using the same protocol as you. Ideally you should select NMEA at 38400, and the standard outgoing port (whatever this is on the AXIM. Try not to use any of the TomTom "special" settings. And try not to use SiRF protocol. _________________ Lutz
