Hi everybody, hope you will welcome another dumb user who is having a problem trying to install V5 on a TTG.
I have downloaded the upgrade and after clicking on the setup.exe file the TomTom screen opens. I then follow the instructions but all the application wants to load is the Jane voice. Anyone know what I am doing wrong as this is driving me nuts and I am beginning to regret selling my Mio268 and buying a TomTom.

Just a thought

Did the file you downloaded have the filename: ttgoupg500.exe ? This is the upgrade setup file...

If the file you downloaded has the filename setup.exe, then that is possibly the wrong file. The upgrade file is 5,570KB in size.

Have you tried loading / removing different voices in from the original cd that came with the go?

That's because v5 is not a full update, if you want to have FULL POSTCODE SEARCH & CONGESTION CHARGE/TOLL ROADS then you have to wait until May when you have to buy the map udates for most of the new functions in v5 to work 8O

Hi pawsey,
Thanks for your reply. Yes the file had the name ttgoupg500.exe. I unzipped this file and then clicked the setup.exe and the result was it loaded Janes voice and nothing else. I have deleted the download file 3 times and re-downloaded it in case there had been an error but it still did the same thing.
I have done as Markie has suggested and used my original CD to load/delete voices and this worked OK and saved me space on the SD card, which is the original 128 Mb TomTom card version 4.2 which has only got a camera database added.

So I am still open to any further suggestions, but be polite please.

Hi Boblites
I also had this problem but found that when i removed the original CD from the drive and then double clicked the downloaded file it worked fine. Hope this helps.

Hi,
Thanks a lot to keefy and JackieHigh, did as you suggested and removed CD from drive and Hey Presto installed with no problem.

Once again many thanks to all who have taken the time to help me sort the problem and I'm sure this will help others.

I downloaded and installed the upgrade with no probs at all. I am very impressed with the 'Itinery' feature as it was the only serious niggle i had with ver 4:40. However I have noticed that since the upgrade TTG has taken longer to pick up sattelite connection. Anybody else noticed this?
