|
|
I used POI edit to cut down the number of POI's. I live in Surrey, so I removed everything north of colchester (52 deg) and Everything west of Portsmouth (-1.75 deg).
I now have:
Gatso - 1106 cams
Mobile - 392 cams
RedLight - 131 cams
Specs - 0
I still get an ocasional stutter, but it's barely noticable.
Has anyone worked out the upper limit on POI's? Do the built in POI's make a difference? I tried turning off the Petrol Stations, which are on by default, but didn't notice a difference. |

try this trick
use dumpov2.exe from TT website to convert original ov2 file to .ASC file then use makeov2.exe to convert it to .ov2 .
works better (90%). |

Dear Mr Connors,
This will happen if many POI databases has been installed.
What we would advise you to only use ONE ov2 file at the time and this should solve your problem.
Due the limited processing power on a 6600 it could happen that TT mobile is not able to handle proximity monitoring for multiple POI files.
solution : reducing the number of monitoring multiple POI files should fixed problem.
A other thing that could cause the this problem are corrupting POI's .
Solution: Remove the all POI and re add again.
We hope to have answered your question to your satisfaction.
With best regards,
The TomTom Customer Support Team |
Dosn't say much more than what everone else here has been saying.

Has anyone got a POI file with just th Gatso cameras in England? Or is there a way of displaying the cameras in the ov2 file on a map and removing the non required POI and saving the file as an ov2? |

Hi
I also did the dump and make, i did the same to the Specs ov2
and the Mobile ov2 as well and i don't get any stuttering at all now.
Thank YOU eddie for that i am very pleased now.
I wonder why do you think it works?, the file size is a little larger or
could it be that it is the proper tomtom format?.
Thanks again. |

Yes seems to work for me now, only the occasional stutter. Would the pocketGPS team consider releasing future updates to the database in this format please? |
