|
|
Hi,
Has anyone else had problems with the sound distorting on the One? I had this happen a few weeks back, but it eventually starting working again. Now it's at it again.
Whenever there's a spoken instruction, it just sounds like white noise/static. Doesn't seem to be anything wrong with the actual speaker, as it seems to correct itself after a while.
Any thoughts?
Cheers,
Steve. |

Can't say I've heard my One sounding like white noise during instructions, though at times the sound can change slightly; slightly muffled I think best suggests the sound. It's as though a blanket has been put between the speaker and the listener and it normally only lasts the one instruction.
More worryingly on mine the spoken instructions seem to become intermittent at times. Sometimes they work and sometimes they don't, and it can be a reet PITA if you're in an unfamiliar location, necessitating me to keep looking at the screen for when I should do the next turn. |

I have distorted sound on my One as well. Not all the time but there is a buzzing on some words especially after the unit has been switched on for an hour or two. |

i would advise against taking it apart as you will invalidate any warrenty on the device either go back to the retailer if with time frame (sorry not up on comsumer right myself) or try tomtom you will most likely have too send it off to be repaired _________________ currently using aponia truck navigation on windows phone. Thinking back I'm sure the speaker problem only appeared after I downloaded and installed a few more voices...
Though I can't really see how this can be the reason for the intermittent voice instruction issue, I've decided that as I'm unlikely to ever use them I've removed them from the unit. I'll see how it goes. |

I've never had spoken alerts for POIs. The only things I'd added were the software upgrade (V5.45?) and the speed camera database. I tried restoring it to the backup I made when it was first out of the box, but it didn't help. |

Switched the TT One on this morning and the sound has suddenly started working again!
This is actually really annoying, as it suggests this could be an intermittent problem. If I send it back to be repaired now, they'll say there's nothing wrong with it! |
