|
|
Hello!
I know this has been posted acouple of years ago, but here it goes again anyway ;)
Since most of the software seems to be on the TomTom ONE's SD Card anyway, do you know if there's any software out there that'll give the the TomTom aviation capabilities, like a screen with heading, altitude, maps with NAVAIDs, STARs SIDs and the likes?
Does anyone know if TomTom are planning on making such a product or upgrade available?
Thanks! :D |

TomTom has no plans to support that. But if you know how to program c++ under Linux then you can do it yourself. _________________ Lutz

Well, I can't tell C++ from my elbow.
But I'm sure someone can do all this program malarkey you just posted about. Do you know if anyone already has? ;) |

Given the size of the aviation market it is highly unlikely that you'll ever see such a solution for the TomTom PND's.
The aviation market is dominated by Garmin and some excellent solutions for Palm and PocketPC (I'm a PPL ).
I can recommend Memory-Map with their CAA charts and NAVGPS. See some reviews here. _________________ Darren Griffin |

Garmin don't seem to have any aviation GPSs available in the UK. How odd.
As for those you suggested, I don't really have a pocketPC and I don't think they're reliable enough. Knowing my luck with those things, it'd crash just as I realised I was getting lost or something ;) |
