The TT One case appears vastly overpriced - does anyone have any suggestions for an alternative??
I'm thinking about trying out some digital camera cases next time I'm in Jessops as they look aroung the right size. |

They certainly are in PC World - £50.00!! For a case! (They had additional Go mount kits at £50 too - talk about profiteering...).
I think the issue more generally is that Tomtom are trying to keep all accessory and map sales direct, whilst selling the units themselves through retailers such as ourselves. Navman seem to have a similar plan - I think they see these product streams as being more profitable in the longterm than the systems themselves.

Thanks for getting back so quickly
The £50 price tag is WAY too expensive.
Even the 35euro (?) price on the TOMTOM website is on the high side.
I reckon I should be able to find a digital camera case (that with probably hold the car charger in a separate pocket for around £10 and certainly less than £15 |

A word of warning about the D Res 8 case which I also picked up 1/2 price in Jessops.
Yes it's a nice snug fit but as a result a squeeze on the side can inadvertently turn on the TomTom! In the position I like it in the car I prefer not to use the power lead (and of course it runs on own steam when walking) so you can open the case to find the battery exhausted!
Ideally the TT would have a slightly longer time to hold button down to turn it on to limit accidental power-ups - digital cameras typically have a longer time.
I'm more wary of this now but if it happens again I'll look out for another case. |

But be quick at the moment it is half price at £6.99. Search for D-RES 8 on Jessops web site.

Thanks for the tip Dan - I'll check it out
Any other suggestions?? |

Just used the Digital Camera bag and used an old camera bag for the Digi camera.
Fit's snuggly enough but the Stylus keeps dropping out of it - Might have to find someone handy to sew a couple of bits to hold it in, Shame the Tom Tom hasn't got one. |

I also use the Lowepro case and my one has only ever turned on once!
Brilliant. |

Stuart, as TomTom distributor I can tell you that TT is actively encouraging shops to take accessories and maps. |

Thanks - I ended up getting one of these cases, but will have to wait to Christmas to try it out as my wife has now wrapped up the tomtom one until Xmas.
Completely amazed by Jessops - the price on the case was £13.99 and there was nothing to indicate that it was half price. If was only when I asked at the counter that I was told it was half price. Whats the point in that? |
