Germany has fully banned the use of drivers using speed camera alerts.

Dedicated devices had already been banned, but loopholes existed whereby only those created specifically with cameras in mind came under the law.

Mobile phones, which happened to include such apps, were not.

But even the new updated law allows for some use - apparently a passenger can use the device lawfully, but this has not been tested.

The new amendments could result in a fine of up to �75.

Now that is 'revenue collection' rather than safety.

Wonder how they would catch you if yiur device wasn't on view
