Navmii - Turn-by-Turn Nav For The iPod Touch Approved by Apple

Article by: Darren
Date: 10 Nov 2009

pocketgpsworld.comThe world's first turn-by-turn navigation app for the iPod touch has been approved by Apple and is now available for download from the iTunes App Store for £29.99.

Posimotion G-FiGeoLife and PosiMotion have launched their joint project, Navmii, which contains UK maps and brings voice guided navigation to the iPod touch.

US maps are expected in the next couple of weeks with Europe following shortly after.

To use with an iPod Touch, Navmii requires pairing with a PosiMotion G-Fi, the world's first mobile network/GPS router which claims to increase GPS accuracy for the iPhone 3G and 3GS.

The G-Fi is a unique device which can provide GPS position data to up to 200 devices connected to it simultaneously.

And one feature worth shouting about, Navmii uses the PocketGPSWorld safety camera database!

I've updated the announcement and the 'Read More' link with screen-shots and the news that it uses our database.

I don't know as yet what format the data is, we supply direct to Navmii but I will ask about update frequency etc.

Out of curiousity, is this the only iPhone SatNav product that has the PGW database?

We have many irons in the fire, some come to fruition, others don't but I;d certainly hope Navmii is not the only one in time.

Also in a similar vain, does anyone know if the Tomtom cradle with additional GPS will ever work with the 1st gen touch?
