Telmap signs deal with TomTom

Article by: Darren Griffin

Telmap, has signed a 3-year deal with TomTom which will give it access to TomTom content including map data, POIs, Junction Views, 3D City Maps and Voice Maps.

Telmap was aquired by Intel in September 2011 (see here) and its free M8 app is available on Android, BlackBerry and and iOS platforms(here).

The deal will be good news for TomTom. They have been struggling in the now dominant smartphone market and a new focus on automotive markets has yet to realise the profits needed to compensate for the downturn in PND sales.
