A US teenager has been jailed for setting alight to a speed camera near a Maryland high school in May 2014 and attempting to set another fire at the same location two days later.

Local police witnessed 19 year old Connor Eash's second visit and he was arrested after he fled the scene. He came equipped with an axe, gasoline and a lighter

Eash commented to the court "These were reckless, immature decisions. For those who consider what I did cool, that’s misguided praise. It is in no way cool to put your parents in such anguish or to jeopardize your future."

He made reparations, paying more than $15,000 restitution to the speed camera owners. He was given two days in Jail.
