Speed cameras in Norfolk have remained dormant for six months after they were first installed.

The average speed devices are intended to monitor a stretch of the A149 between King's Lynn and Snettisham.

Norfolk's police and crime commissioner commented: "I gather there has been some technical problems but it has been far too long, I think it is unacceptable."

Norfolk County Council said: "We installed the cameras, but it took longer than anticipated to establish the power supply. These issues have now been resolved."

During the six years to the end of August 2019 there were 34 personal injury collisions on the A149, including 10 serious injuries and 3 deaths.

This has reduced from the six year period to the end of May 2018 when there were 40 collisions including 10 serious injuries and five deaths.
