Guests due to attend a wedding in Old Wardour Castle near Tisbury, Wiltshire got stuck in a field when their coach driver took an unsuitable road on the way to the ceremony.

The driver realised the turn he needed to take was too tight, but spotted a farm gate opposite him at the junction. He drove through it and attempted to turn around, but then found himself stuck in the middle of the muddy field.

The 30 coach passengers were rescued by the local villagers of East Hatch, who first attempted to free the coach, but then drove them to the ceremony. They arrived just in time, before the bride.

One of the guests commented: "The sat nav being used by the coach driver directed us down a road unsuitable for heavy vehicles. Unfortunately, the driver ventured too far into the field and was unable to reverse back out. The driver then decided to drive fully into the planted field with the intention of turning the coach around but was unable to get back up the slight incline."
