Dubai Police have said that they have captured three drivers on speed camera "flashing their middle finger". All three have been arrested.

It's unclear as to whether the men expected to get away with it - they were speeding past the cameras, registration numbers on view. It can perhaps be assumed, they had the intention of getting caught.

But what amounts to a childish prank may soon turn very sour for them.

Dubai Public Prosecution is considering a charge of making an insulting gesture. This could get the perpetrators up to six months in prison and deportation for expatriates.

The head of Dubai Traffic Police said "Our cameras caught three men speeding then flashing their middle finger to the radar. They sped intentionally so that it would take their picture doing this it's like they wanted to insult the camera. It's showing that they don't care or respect the speed radar."

I suspect the punishment over there will be a middle finger amputation.
