The European Commission have announced that part of the infrastructure for Europe's Galileo Satellite Navigation system is to be moved from London to Spain due the the UK's upcoming exit from the European Union.

The main security monitoring station for Galileo will be in Paris, with the UK station being the back-up when Paris was offline. It was due to go online later this year. A spokesperson for the European Commission confirmed it was being moved "as consequence of the UK withdrawal from the EU".

The Galileo system is due to be operational from 2020.
