It has been confirmed that over the next few weeks, ten fixed speed cameras will become operational on the roads of Luxembourg.

One recently installed camera in Beckerich, west Luxembourg has already been vandalised even before it has been switched on. Its protective visor has been ripped off.

The cameras will initially go through a test phase where no speeders will be prosecuted, but they are set to be fully operational and issuing fines on March 16th.

A further ten fixed speed cameras will also be installed in the Grand Duchy during the year. The country already utilises mobile speed cameras.
