A doctor has been banned from driving after trying to offload speeding fines 11 times.
Over a period of just eight months, Dr. Iziegbuwa Omoregie was issued with tickets nine times. She was driving her husband's Peugeot 307.
A further two offences happened between April and May in 2014 when the couple changed cars to a Nissan Quashqai - this time registered to Dr. Omoregie. Investigations showed that the doctor was driving the cars on all occasions.
Each time they received Notices of Intention to Prosecute, they gave fake names and foreign addresses to the police in an attempt to dodge the fines.
Manchester Crown Court handed the couple a three months prison sentence, suspended for 12 months and 160 hours unpaid work. They were given a £3,000 fine and Dr. Omoregie also received a driving ban for 12 months.
A spokesman for Greater Manchester Police said: "Both Dr Iziegbuwa Omoregie and Mr Allison Omoruyi not only flagrantly flouted the driving laws, but actively attempted to mislead police. They were quite happy to waste police time and have shown a complete disregard for the law with their actions."
He added "They have both now paid the price for their disrespect for the driving laws, sustaining damage to their reputations."
