Direct Yourself with Garmin Voice Studio

Article by: maft
Date: 4 Feb 2010

pocketgpsworld.comGarmin have released a new, free, program to enable users to record their own voice files. With Garmin Voice Studio (Windows only) you are prompted to record your own version of each phrase such as 'turn left' and 'enter the roundabout' which are then compiled and transferred, via USB, to your Garmin device. Most recent models are compatible but check the list on the Garmin Voice Studio page.

Blimey, have they only just got round to doing that?
It's been built-in on TomToms since the year dot.

I put my voice on my 1390 the other day, but youve got to make sure you use the right intonation in your voice or it sounds terrible.

However, I may (probably will) take it off as it cuts off the voice for the speed cameras & I'd rather try to make a TTS voice instead.
