Downloading the Pocket GPS Safety Camera Database
- Download from Pocket GPS Safety Camera Database page.
- Login to PocketGPSWorld.Com and goto the Safety Camera Download page.
- Select SatNav System iGO 2006, MyGuide or OnCourse Navigator 6 , choose Continue then choose the database version you wish to use.
Extracting the Database on the PC
- Extract the ZIP file contents to a directory on your PC, e.g. C:\temp
- In Windows XP right-click the .zip file and select "Extract Files Here..." or use a program such as WinZip or WinRar to extract the files
Installing Pocket GPS Safety Camera Database
- Connect unit to PC (may require installation of Active Sync)
- Use 'Explore' to browse the unit
- Go to the following folder depending on device:
- MyGuide: \Flash Disk\MyGuide\POI\SPEEDCAM
- iGO 8: \Storage Card\iGO8\CONTENT\speedcam
- Remove any files currently in this folder:
- MyGuide: SpeedCam.spdb, SpeedCamUpdates.spdb and PGPSW text files
- iGO 8: SpeedcamUpdates.spud and PGPSW text files
- Copy the extracted .txt files to this folder (excluding 'release.txt' and 'license.txt')
- You may need to 'soft reset' the unit
Activating Pocket GPS Safety Camera Database (MyGuide)
- Activate the speed camera database through the following menu commands:
- Settings
- General Settings
- Speed Warning Options / Alerts
- Enable Safety Cameras
- Ensure sounds are active:
- Settings
- Sound
- Activate 'Master' and 'Voice' and set sliders towards the right
- On the Map view ensure the speaker icon is showing without a cross
Activating Pocket GPS Safety Camera Database (iGO 8)
- Activate the speed camera database through the following menu commands:
- Settings
- Warnings
- Speed Camera Warning (TICK)
