Metro reports that a 76 year old Londoner Maurice Collins has been named Britain’s "Best Collector" in a Bid TV competition.

One "thingamabob", as he puts it, that Maurice is in proud possession of, is a 1920s wristwatch-style "satnav", thought to be the first ever navigation device for motorists.

The wrist-worn "Route Indicator" is equipped with tiny scrolling maps bearing directions and revolved manually as the journey progressed. When made in 1927, it came with 20 maps and a cost of £5 (approximately £250 in today's money).
