Okay, I've found here this is correct... so my next question is, can I use my CE 2002 CD from my 3970 to install CE 2002 on a new 2210?

Are there any other work arounds?

It is not the navigation software that is the problem, it is the CF hardware that will only work with CE.

I can actually use the software on my IPAQ by setting the software to use the GPS100 unit on com1, then connecting my Etrex set to NMEA out so I guess any device that gives NMEA out and works on a com port will work in this way.

PS Navman were very unhelpful when I contacted them, I quote from their email (in full)

"Sir, the techical specification is clearly outlined on the side of the box. There is no mention of PPC 2003, because the GPS 1000 does not work with this. Many thanks"
