yeh, it shouldn't be a problem (i never had the issues with the older garmins)

is it still the same regarding the smartlink app, that if you use this it will override the traffic information on the unit itself or has this been resolved

The last time I tested Smartlink traffic using my test rig, and my old work route that used to go horribly wrong, it worked perfectly, and very quickly. The bar was populated yellow and red in seconds.

I only did it a few times, and from my armchair under gps simulation mode, so a very limited test.

What has happened since my switch from Smartlink to cable is that the Smartlink app has been updated twice. Maybe they sorted it.

I suppose this means you want my source code again to tweak it for your needs Very Happy

It has changed quite considerably since you had it last.

Cheers Kremmen,

Not at the moment you seem to be doing a good job of it - hope you kept the code nice and tidy Wink

I've got so much on and never have the time and been doing nothing but sql coding at work so been learning that -

i'm still trying to get all my photographs sorted from this year and just not had the chance

Some bits of it could be tidier but I wanted to keep it self contained.

I've gone back to a data file because each new install under Microsoft ClickOnce goes to a different UserData folder and ID so the built in 'mySettings' is useless under those new installs.

I did some Transact SQL. Different but powerful.

off back home tomorrow, so thought would setup the device ready

tried getting it to locate my address and won;t find it, can't seem to also get it to search via postcode.

even if change search location and take it down to the village, it's still a no go

so how do you perform a postcode search on the unit or get it to locate an address as even trying my inlaws address it still says cannot find search results

fixed it: had to deselect and reselect the maps and now can search on postcode

Tap 'where to' at then you should have an enter Town or enter postcode option to the right. If you can't find the Postcode make sure you have the right country selected as this can throw a few funnies such as Newport in Bucks rather than Newport, Gwent rather than showing both together plus many tens of other options for that town

I've never had that but they do prefer to be fully rebooted after any update, assuming it didn't come with 2017.03 pre-installed.

no it came with 2016.30 installed - and not updated yet - hopefully later tonight or tomorrow will update it and then start looking at getting the PGPSW cameras on it

worked well on it's first run - quickly rerouted - notifications were spot on - notified me of upcoming delays - forgot how different it was to the TT in respect of this - but still got the nice clear interface

Is the Driveluxe voice commands the same as the Driveassist I had for a day.

On the DA you had to pre program it with 'your voice' speaking numbers one to nine.
Then all the commands were in a menu system so when you said say, two, that menu popped up with further numbered commands.

As I said previously, on the DA it refused to accept my 'three' and 'five' because it reckoned they were too close to my 'two' and 'four'. No matter how slow or how close I was it failed.

I even tried the military trick of speaking 'fife' instead of 'five' but it was having none of it.

Presumably, in addition to it not recognising your numbers, you have to also look at the device to find what menu item you want to select? So you might as well just reach out and tap the screen. Rolling Eyes

You can, but if your dash is as far away as mine then voice control is the way to go. Also, with the latest glass screens fingerprints are an issue.
