Sorry if I am late to this discussion.
POI can be imported from a USB by going to the Advanced section, MYPOI and importing from there.
The files must be kml.
I have converted some of the POI files provided on this site to kml and have had no problems.
It appears that it is not possible to import a Tour made elsewhere, even though it is in kml format. I have just tried this and the route I imported just came out as a list of POI. The same route imported into the Co-Pilot app on an Android phone worked perfectly (as a route).
Hope this helps |

The PocketGPSWorld camera database is available in most formats, including .asc, .csv, and .gpx. I'm not sure about .kml.
You need to find out as much about the how the unity takes the POI:
1. Does it take .BMP files so that icons show the POI on the map display?
2. Does it give proximity alerts when you approach? If so can it take .ogg or .wav audio files?
3. Can it use directional data?
4. How do you load the POIs and associated files? By USB stick or SD/MicroSD card?
If you can find online resources to your unit please post a link in this thread.

How to edit "favourites.bin" with USB and whether you are able to set the icon and sound for your POI
thank you |

No, it doesn't look like we are.

Presumably you mean your own third party (aka custom) POIs and not the built-in TomTom POIs? As you won't be able to use the TomTom POIs - not that they're that accurate either!
I've googled for "Hyundai Tucson POI" and not much comes up, in fact this thread is the top match!
I suggest that you go to a dealership and say that you want to buy a Hyundai Tucson, but the deal maker is that its built-in SatNav must be able to take third party (aka custom) POIs (i.e. show them on the map and navigation screen ) and that you want to be shown how it's done.
Then please come back and tell us in this forum thread whether you can in fact load POIs and if so whether they show on the screen and how it's done.

And if they have user definable proximity warnings. |

Ah yes, proximity warnings, I should have remembered!
Also custom proximity warning audio files, e.g. .ogg or .wav, etc. _________________ Robert.

And possibly beyond the pay-scale of most. |

Nah, all you need to do is turn up with a tool kit, a laptop, an SD card, a USB memory stick and say "Do you mind if I do some experimentation on that nice new shiny car in your showroom"?
