Crikey, the manifest for CN EU 2016.30 is already on Garmin servers, was only a few weeks ago we got 2016.20. However given Garmin's recent delays in releasing the maps I wouldn't hold your breath, while in the past a map update used to be released within a week or so of hitting the servers, recently it's been a month or so.
Interestingly the manifest refers to an 'Experimental gmap', not seen that before! _________________ Where there's a will ... there's a way. |

Sounds like someone has uploaded the test map to the wrong place. _________________ Satnav:

CN is City Navigator. It's what Garmin call their maps.
On the servers mean the basic code necessary is there but you can't yet access the maps. _________________ Where there's a will ... there's a way. |

Now updated, thanks.
Took a lot less time than the predicted 2 hours, probably a fraction over an hour. |

2599 done, but GE is still not stable.
After it downloaded, prepared, built then copied the maps, it went loopy and the progressbar was flickering and the time remaining was flashing from 10 to 20 hours and times in between.
I just left it alone and after about 10 minutes it changed to completed.
Not the first time it's done similar. _________________ Satnav:

I've seen similar, I think the fact the download is substantial means that any change in download speeds has a significant impact on 'predicted download time'. I just ignore it and let it get on with it. _________________ Where there's a will ... there's a way. |

This was after the download stage.
It went through all the various steps correctly and had got down to about 7 minutes left when it went loopy (techy term)
Still, it worked in the end. _________________ Satnav:

I did the 2597 yesterday without a hitch.
One other thing - the 2597 caused a download, which as we've found was saved.
The 2599 update recognised the download so stage 1 went straight to 50% and then carried on from there.
Strange as I thought the map sets were different. Therefore Watson, I guess the downloads are identical but the processing stage does different things for different models? _________________ Satnav:

Map is the same, as you surmise Express just creates the part for your device that you're entitled to.
Incidentally if you choose to download to your PC as well as device you should get the full map you're entitled to on your PC for Basecamp to use even if you only download a subset to your satnav. _________________ Where there's a will ... there's a way. |
