Hi
I have a fairly old Garmin Nuvi 1310 .What I want to do is disable audio for directions but still have it chime when im in a mobile camera zone / speed camera approaching. Reason I want od o this as I want to use the car sat nav for directions and the Garmin for speed cameras only. Any thoughts please? |

That's what I do.
No route planned so all I get on tne Garmin is cameras and traffic. I use the built in system for navigation as that mutes the audio when instructions are given.

What worked for me was to use Garmin Voice Studio (a free download) to generate a silent voice file "Silent.vpm" to paste into my Garmin. Now I can select the silent voice, or the normal one, at my choice.
First use Audacity (free) to generate a 0.5 sec "Silence.wav".
Then use Garmin Voice Studio.
For each displayed phrase, press File…Import Audio File…Silence.wav.
Dismiss all the error messages that occur.
Copy the vpm file to Garmin.
