I have now removed the beeps before the warnings, and they announce Gatso rather than Static. I am willing to put a link to them on my dropbox, but thought I would check first to make sure that I am not in breech of the PGPSW rules.....any thoughts anybody please..... Question

If you use the set in the package they don't have the beeps and they say Gatso.

What wav's have you got?

I changed these http://www.pocketgpsworld.com/speed-camera-alerts-garmin-liz.php Although it says on the label Voice Only, if you download and play them, they have beeps before them. The one that you can include with the Camera download says Static camera instead of Gatso..... Rolling Eyes

Try the ones in my zip. You can play them in Windows just to test. They are the PGPSW default ones and I think are louder and clearer than Liz. In my set is the new RedSpeed wav that compliments the others.

Your choice though.

Used the 2015 converter this afternoon, works a treat. Your sound files in the zip just call a Gatso a fixed speed camera, for some reason Gatso seems to get my attention better. Bye the way, I like the larger icons in the Zip, much better for long sighted people like me....Thanks again for all your help... Wink

As you are probably aware, Gatso is a trade name, and historically, fixed came were given the name Gatso, because that's what they were. But with the plethora of more recent manufacturers, keeping up is pretty difficult, so kremmen decided on 'Fixed Camera' to suppress 'complaints' that it's not a Gatso, it's a Truvello.

Those wav's aren't mine, they are the default set.

The only manipulation I did was to fiddle with the existing:

"Redlight camera ahead" and
"Fixed camera ahead xx miles per hour" and
"Fixed Camera ahead, variable speed"

to produce "RedSpeed camera ahead xx miles per hour"

How does "RedSpeed camera ahead xx miles per hour" work? Had to go to Southend-on-Sea today for work, with the larger .bmp files could not see the way forward for camera positions. Also, had quite a few double warnings of Pmobiles...is it time for a delete existing personal POI?

Within the existing downloaded Gatso files Redspeed cameras are uniquely identified in the text area along with their speed.

I can pick up on this and I can link to the new wav and bmp files I've produced to give the correct warning.

If it's setup via the Redspeed selection on the main screen and the text change screen has been 'reset' then you should see Redspeed appear on the main screen in the left hand box after processing.
Then providing you have copied the wav and bmp files from the install package then all 3 boxes should be/remain green.

Tell me Kremmen; I notice after processing the .csv files to .gpx I am left with a set of files ending with prev, with the gpx, wav, & bmp files. Can these be deleted from the folder, or is there no need to delete them? And, when I download a later version of the SC database, can the .csv files alone just be pasted into the folder that is used by the csv to gpx converter? Sorry if I am being a pain..... Embarassed

Haven't a clue what the .prev files are. [s]Csv converter doesn't generate them[/s].

Just use the built in unzipper for the .csv files only. It will put the files in the right place if you have set up your working folder.

The prev files allow me to easily spot the new cameras. It was a facility I used to use via MapPoint to see it any were on my likely routes.

They should get deleted before each process so the only ones visible are current. Yes they can be safely deleted.

Jeez. I know what a file with a .prev extension looks like, and if you say you have them, I believe you. No need to include a picture for my benefit which takes up a load of space and is far too big for the forum layout, screws it up and is contrary to forum guidelines. Rolling Eyes Please edit it out.
