I was just about to post the self same thing .
just proves the old forum etiquette rule about using search first! Haha.
Got my watch today, liking it so far, and in my trawl of T'interweb for apps I saw a screen shot of a speed camera alert, think it was an American App.
Hope they do, of course I have no idea how much work that would take, but I would pay a small (£1.99) say one-time app upgrade fee for the capability.
A work around for now would be to employ one of the many ITTT (If This Then That) apps available like Workflow.
Im going to experiment with it, will let you know if I get anything usable working.

With that watch thing, I am captivated by imagining someone leading off with his arm c/w watch, a la Superman. _________________ Dennis

Just been chatting to an app developer, and she says this is 'easy'. But added, that does not necessarily mean cheap.

Why can't we edit posts?
Anyway, just to add. I think maybe PGPSW need to consider the future impact, they have the best app at the minute by wide acclaim. Cyclops will launch their Apple watch app by Christmas I'm told, what affect would this have.
Small now for sure with the small uptake on Apple watch, but with an android and pebble compatible version also due by next year, that's a whole other consideration. |

Looking at this some more. You don't even need to create an new app.
The Apple watch allows the mirroring of notifications and alerts from apps on the iPhone. So 'all' that would need doing is making the current app fully notification/alert compatible.
It isn't at the minute, it doesn't appear in the notification settings list. This is where it needs to be to be mirrored on the watch.

That would seem to be it!
But it doesn't appear in the list on my iPhone 6 with IOS8.4?
:-(
If I can get it in that list, it 'should' mirror the background alerts on my watch.

OK.
Just had a look, and I think the app maybe needs updating.
It does appear in the notifications setting on my work iPhone 5 running iOS 7. It does not appear on my own iPhone 6 with iOS 8.4.

Right.
Just had a play. Deleted, re installed, restarted iPhone etc. the app is 100% NOT compatible with notifications on ios8.4.
It doesn't appear in the list, and on a v quick test just now, it does NOT give alerts for cameras unless it is the in use running app on the phone display.
On my 5, if I'm taking a call say, I still get an alert from the app while it is in the background.
:-)
So, guess we need to wait for the app to be updated for iOS 8+

Well we have a problem then. I have tried everything, and it absolutely will NOT install into notifications on mine :-(
My mate is a subscriber and uses the DB in his sat nav only, he got a 6+, I will get him to load the app tonight. I don't know why he doesn't already TBH, but then, he has vertuslky no apps other than stock at all. It a work phone so he doesn't bother with it. |
