I have just called in to Halfords to collect a TomTom XL WE which I had reserved on-line but the shop could find one anywhere. They have offered me a Via 135, again with Lifetime Maps for the same price but I think this has a different version of the software to the XL. Can anyone confirm which is the software version on the Via 135. I can then check on the 'sticky' what the differences are (ie was has been lost). Thanks

My Via 135M shows the app as 12.071.1370596.84.

The only thing I miss compared to my GO720 is the ability to access the file structure and to create backups on the pc.

Custom POIs, including the PGPSW cameras, are a doddle to instal using Manage Community Content in MyDrive.

Thanks for that information.

Having now unwrapped the Via 135 the unit is fixed to the screen using a mount that means the only way to take the unit indoors to update the speed camera database etc. is to remove the mount from the screen.

The XL version just unclips from it's mount. Halfords have now found one of the XL models at another branch and I am going to return the Via 135 and collect an XL.

At least then I will have the Free Lifetime map updates and I sat Nav that does what I want.
