|
|
I've been searching the net and the forum to find out what the current tollerance that fixed speed cameras are set too.
I've read 10% plus 1, so your ok for example at 33 in a 30 zone but it's a fine and penalty points at 34 in a 30 zone.
Anyone got any accurate info on this ? |

Wrong. The ACPO guideline is 10% +2mph. But it is only a guideline. There are reports that some operators seem to put them at less than that. Read it all for yourself here. Para 9.6 |

In accordance with my normal policy of never RTFM, I haven't got past page 2 of that thing.
But surely ACPO only does mobile, not fixed? I have always regarded them as having NO tolerance (but then, I am a plonker, innit?). _________________ Dennis

Technically you can be prosecuted for doing 30.1mph as it is over the 30mph seed limit.
However, because there's SOME element of sensibility somewhere then the guideline is to allow 10% + 2mph before prosecuting - this allows some leeway for inaccuracies in speedometers on cars.
And bearing in mind your speedo will probably read a few mph too fast then your speedo would need to say nearly 40 before you'd be done in a 30.
However, do you want to risk it? They're only GUIDELINES after all...
