I can save you time here. I have:

Master reset (twice)
Uninstalled and reinstalled SmartLink (twice)
Disabled and reset Bluetooth
Unpaired and re-paired the phone.

I wouldn't bother with the restore as the files it backs up are very few and just personal data from what I can tell.

I updated to the 2015.10 maps not long after they became available, but don't recall that update causing an issue with the 3D Live Traffic service on my 2595.
I also note there was mention of trying a master reset in an earlier post; I've not tried that yet in case Garmin support ask for any specific evidence before doing that. Similarly I've not regressed back to a June 2014 full backup yet, but if I don't get a positive message of progress from Garmin by the weekend I'll be considering these steps to get the service working again.

I've found in the past, that the first thing garmin tell you to do is a master reset and phone them back if its still the same!

To be fair that generally is all that's required to sort out numerous issues with a device, so I guess it makes sense for Garmin to try that first.

If anything we should all do it after any device update as a matter of course Wink

After reinstalling the map - no change.

Next step was to perform a complete factory reset. Once done I reset my preferences as everything is back to basics except the map version. I then plotted some sample routes where I knew there would be some traffic.

Now if what happened yesterday after the reset continues then I have the traffic back. I plotted a route where I knew there was heavy traffic and within a minute it showed me a red section. Not had that for some weeks.

Early days and I'm not using the car till Thursday.

Factory reset:

    Unit horizontal
Press and keep pressing bottom right corner of screen
Press and hold power button until screen starts flashing 'System'
Once it's flashing 'System' release the power button only and keep pressing the bottom right corner until 'loading...' appears. Could be up to 30 seconds.
    Release and let it boot.

Thanks, a factory reset sounds as if it could be the way to go then so will try that at some point and see what happens.

Nope - still broken.

I've spent some time looking at both Smartlink and the Garmin. What I've found is that the traffic data is getting swamped out by hundreds of 'construction zones' that the vast majority have long since gone.

The Garmin is showing me that the whole of the A312 from the M4 to Harrow is one 12 mile long construction zone/roadworks area - no it's not. There was some roadworks along some small sections a few months ago but that has long gone. What Smartlink seems to be doing is joining up the dots to create one long construction zone which is preventing traffic from displaying.
These zones are being presented on the Garmin as a continuous white line with diagonal orange inserts.
It's also still showing a burst water main in Northolt. Again, that was 4 to 6 weeks ago and is long gone.

What is appearing on the Smartlink app itself though is the traffic zones in Yellow/Red as appropriate but with the roadworks showing the start and end points with the familiar roadside style triangle warning signs.

I've found that depending what kicks in first gets priority - roadworks or traffic. Mostly it's roadworks. On the rare occasion as I've posted before the traffic will show but only for a few minutes before the roadworks take over.

I give in, now looking to ditch the Garmin and switch to CamerAlert with a suitable traffic overlay.

Glad I don't use smartlink ... traffic with the supplied cable on my 2508 working perfectly.

Try contacting Garmin by phone, they should be able to help you resolve this.

Done that 3 times. They haven't a clue:

Reinstall Smartlink, reset the device.

I've now taken the SD Card out and downloaded UK & ROI. Funny thing is I've still got 'Voice Command' so I'm sticking with these maps on the device.

I'll wait for the latest maps to rule them out of the equation.

When I did use the TA20 one day last week it showed 6 local incidents. Via Smartlink there are currently 237 separate 'Incidents' !

Crazy

Interesting you still have voice command, maybe a software update has changed the way that works because it shouldn't Smile

As for traffic it's clearly smartlink related, as clearly your TA20 and mine work perfectly, can't help with that I'm afraid.

I bit the bullet in the absence of any reply so far today from Garmin CS and tried the master reset. As mentioned earlier by Kremmen it still seems to be broken and showing old roadworks for some reason. It did briefly show traffic delays and then they seemed to get cleared down in favour of all the roadworks entries.
I guess I'll have to temporarily switch to using the traffic cable as a source until Garmin CS get their act together - grrr!

This is beginning to sound like a TomTom traffic cock up.

I'm surprised at the lack of online reports.

I have now reported it to Garmin with screenshots. It's got to the stage now where the complete A312 from the M4 to Harrow is one long construction zone according to Garmin. Plus the M4 westbound is apparently under construction/roadworks from junction 3 to just past the M25 junction.

...and as usual I sat in a jam yesterday on the M25 junctions 13 to 15 whilst the Garmin was telling me "No traffic reported ahead" Rolling Eyes

Well it's not good but at least it's confined to smartlink ... the normal traffic cable works fine. My 'cheap' 2508 isn't even smartlink capable so I've never been tempted down that route Very Happy
