SOLVED: XXL free map update within 30 days

I bought an XXL new, 3 weeks ago, the IQ Routes Europe edition. I've gone through installing the latest TomTom Home on Windows 7 and done all the updates including the device software, speed cameras etc, as offered by Home.

However the free 30 day map update hasn't been offered - I have the v840 map (western and central europe 2GB) according to Home. Updating to the Western Europe map (presumably v885) would cost £40.

Is this supposed to happen? If not, any idea how can I get the free map update?

My Tomtom account was previously used with a GO 710 but the XXL was first used after 21st Mar.

SOLVED: Found the menu option within Home that lets you apply the free map update... Not very intuitive but it seems to be working now. You need to use the *drop down* menu to find the "map update guarantee" option not the large menu buttons. Tomtom don't mention this on their map guarantee page on their site, and the link to check your maps doesn't work.

Also, the Tomtom Home application said that "your map is up to date" before I did the update - seemingly based on Mapshare corrections only.

Good to see Tomtom haven't really fixed their software problems ...
