Yup, I mentioned that issue in my second post. These are correctly classified as footpaths in OpenStreetMap so Navmii have clearly miscoded them. _________________ Darren Griffin - Editor

Actually I have to take some of that back... Despite looking like roads, it does not actually seem to route though most of them in my particular example. You cannot set any of the roads I highlighted as yellow as a destination as it just says "cannot find route". So it seems it does sometimes realise they're footpaths, even if it's rendering them as roads.
The problem is, I'm certain I've seen it route me via footpaths before, but I can't now make it do that... Annoyingly, I don't think there's a "plan route" function so it's hard to test if you're not physically sat near an affected area. |

Navmii released an update a day or so ago and re-visiting this, I am no longer routed along footpaths through the nearby nature reserve.
So that's a big improvement.
What we now need is for these non-navigable footpaths to be rendered as footpaths and clearly discernible as such. _________________ Darren Griffin - Editor

It has a "Route from here" function, which would be useful for testing but it doesn't seem to work either. Why does it ask you for a city if you pick route from here? It should just use whatever destination you already had. Too flaky to even test at the moment |

Sorely needs a simple demo mode as well, that was lacking in the full Navmii paid for version as well. _________________ Darren Griffin - Editor

There have been a few updetes of late. To get the most from this app you need to download the post code search, cost a few pence. Without it I find it has trouble finding street names. Although you can enter a house number it always says "Not available"
Still for the amount I use a satnav I find it works for me,, and as it on my phone its always there if I need it, even for walking. |
