Another way of looking at it is that the location is incorrect due to the reduction in FASI analysis. Many were placed simply on the basis of numbers of FASI accidents without reference to causal analysis.

We all can see the logic of excessive speed increasing the severity of the consequences, but it may not be the primary cause of the accident. If the primary cause is predominantly poor road engineering/design at the speed limit.......no revenue.

Many TRRL reports supported this and similar logic in '80s and '90s if I remember correctly. Recent ones don't simply because the study definition virtually dictate what the answer/conclusions will be.

Cynicism again, sorry.
