I am using the beta version on a Bold. It takes a lot longer than 1 minute to fix on my position. In order to get to navigation quickly, i had to refresh the GPS option in my phone settings, then go back to the software.
Is this normal?? Find&Go on my old Storm 1 was much much quicker. Problem with the Bold's GPS capabilities or the software i wonder..... |

yeah in india too..it takes a lot of time to recalculate the route and the maps seems to be very old. Not upto date I suppose. Please check on that sir. |

GPS is very reliant on 3 or more satelites. This means that if you use it during a certain time of day there could be little satelites in direct view, also multipath errors exist which means it hits off buildings and other such object giving a false location needing recalculation. Also what OS version are you using on the bold have you upgraded to 5.0? I noticed a much better GPS zone in on 5.0 vs 4.2.1

Hello,
Regarding the issue of getting GPS fix, please try the following:
• Please enter your device menu -- options -- advanced options -- GPS -- ensure your:
o"GPS Data source" is set to "Device GPS"
o"GPS services" are set to "Locations on"
oPlease click the menu button and choose "Refresh GPS"
•Also, please ensure that the application permissions are all set to "allow" (form the main device menu choose "options" -- "advanced options" -- "applications"-- scroll down to Telmap5 -- while highlighting the application please use the menu button -- "edit permissions"--please verify that all are set to "allow").
•Now try again, under clear sky, Please note that the first fix always takes longer and it may take around 15-20 minutes.
Regarding the second issue mentioned, in order to investigate maps which are not updated we need specific data regarding the place you encountered the problem. As this is rather personal data, you are welcome to email me at tugadmin at telmap dot com, with information about what is wrong in the data received, so I could further investigate it.
