Hi

I'm looking to buy a newer model of TomTom (my current one is Navigator 5 on the Palm T3) and am interested in the traffic/live update services.

However I don't travel enough to justify the monthly HD Traffic cost, so wondered if there was something that I could use my Vodafone business mobile for? (work pays for it)

TBH I'm baffled by all the new TT options now available and have no idea which models to consider.

There are only three route to Traffic data with TomTom:

1. TomTom device with built-in LIVE functionality (Subscription).
2. TomTom device with plug-in RDS-FM Receiver (free with accessory)
3. TomTom device with Traffic Subscription and connected BT phone (Subscription)

You will note that Option 3 requires a compatible phone but still carries a subscription fee on top of any data costs you may incur.

I have an annual subscription for my 3 mobile phone, which I believe is better value than the monthly subscription.
My renewal is due in mid July for around £29. I was wondering if it is better to renew now (its offered via home) or wait until its actually expired, as I've heard that there are sometimes problems with renewals.
Any suggestions?
