International CTIA WIRELESS 2009® Showcases Mobile Industry’s Continued Innovation and Growth

Mobile industry to come together to discuss wireless innovations on keynote stage, exhibit floor and conferences

WASHINGTON --(Business Wire)-- Mar 24, 2009 At this year’s International CTIA WIRELESS 2009® tradeshow and conference, attendees from more than 125 countries will learn about the latest wireless innovations—including health and energy applications, mobile storefronts and new content offerings. During a time of economic uncertainty, attendees will have the opportunity to learn about innovations that increase efficiency and result in ubiquitous access across industries on the keynote stage, show floor and in conference sessions. International CTIA WIRELESS takes place April 1-3, at the Las Vegas Convention Center.

“Against the backdrop of a turbulent market, the wireless industry continues to advance,” said Robert Mesirow, vice president and show director for CTIA. “This year’s show will feature a concentrated marketplace of decision-makers working to deliver mobile products and services that improve efficiencies in industries such as healthcare, finance and energy. We are gearing up for a high level of activity at this year’s show, illustrating that despite rough economic waters, the wireless industry continues its tradition of creativity, growth and innovation.”

As part of CTIA’s tradition of marrying wireless technology and public service, the April 3, 9:30 a.m. keynote will feature former U.S. vice president and Nobel Peace Prize winner Al Gore. Since retiring from politics, Al Gore has been a tireless advocate for raising awareness on the dangers of global warming. He was the recipient of the Nobel Peace Prize (together with the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change) in 2007. His documentary, An Inconvenient Truth, won an Academy Award in 2007.
