how do you get the on screen base map to move with your bulls eye as you walk.....

what function are you in planning or gps.

If you scroll through to gps function the map should move centric to your movement

am new to this just been out walking it shows a dotted trail but when you go off screen map i have to use joy stick to move map to where i am
had a pda with memory map and it was just a case of tap lock map and unlock map for auto movement..

It sounds like you have the unit in planning mode rather than GPS, every time you touch the joystick the device will drop out of GPS mode into planning.
Look at the symbol associated with button to the left of the joystick:
If it looks like a gun sight then you are in Planning mode depress the button and it will change to either:
N which is North up or the arrow which is track up (not available for selection if the device is using Advanced power management).

Keep your eye on the lower left icon though as knocking the joystick drops the GPS mode, this is about my only main criticism of the device - Mike

There is one other annoying little quirk.If you are in "GPS" mode and "Trail Up" and you move the joystick,perhaps to see where a footpath leads for instance, as Mike says it goes into planning mode but it also reverts to North Up which can be a bit disorientating.I would prefer if it stopped in "Trail Up" personally.
