It might be worth asking one of the other owners in an existing thread for help?

Not familiar with the Kenwood units but as they are Garmin based can you try the following.

Where To?, Extras, Custom POIs. Are the cameras listed there?

It just had one option...Delete All. Nothing else.

If you zoom right in on a town can you not see the POIs and cameras?

User manual is here (8.8 Mb PDF) but doesn't cover the Navigation part....

Another method.

Delete everything off the SD card. Load the SD into the PC, run POILoader and select "Garmin Device", then choose the SD Card. Let it load the database to the card and then try.

I forgot "Garmin Device" usually allows you to choose either the internal unit memory or the SD Card in the device slot. Hopefully it'll allow you to load to a card in a card reader. this should ensure the folder structure is correct.

Of course I can. Only too pleased to. I've just changed a few things Smile

===========================

Installing Pocket GPS Safety Camera Database - SD Card Models
1. Connect your card reader to the PC and insert the memory card .
2. If POILoader does not automatically start, run it now .
3. Select Garmin Device from Save Options. Click Next.
4. Your card reader should now be listed as the device. Click Next.
5. Choose Install new custom POI’s onto your device. Click Next
6. Browse for the folder where you saved and extracted the POI’s in Step 1. 'extracting the Database' above.
o NB: You MUST ensure you select Feet and mph if you are using UK/Northern Ireland files or Meters and km/h for all other countries (see below). If you do not ensure this selection is correct for your territory then the alerts will sound at incorrect speeds. This is the most commonly asked question, please check you have configured this correctly first.
7. Use Express (Recommended) mode to quickly transfer the database to your SD Card.
8. Note that any other POIs you wish to load must be uploaded at the same time as the Speed Camera database.

===========================

Thanks again!

aemdee - Glad to hear it's sorted. Weird thing is the case shouldn't matter as my i3 is GARMIN\Poi and the 760T is Garmin\Poi. Oh well...

Maybe it's just the fact that the POI Loader writes directly to the SD card? Who knows? I'm just glad it works Smile

So can I claim my free subscription for having my experience translated into the instructions to help other Kenwood users? Wink

Hello I have exactly the same problem as aemdee, and the same system etc. I have tried all the suggested solutions here. The only difference I have is that I am using a Mac. So I am unable to try the 'fix' that worked for aemdee:

On POI Loader for Mac, there is no option 'Garmin Device' only a drop down menu with 2 options 1) my SD Card Name and 2) 'Save GPI File to Computer'. There is also a button next to this named 'Find Device' but when you click this nothing happens. (Not surprising as there is no device)

Please can someone help me!

The easiest way for you appears to be to use the 'Save GPI File to Computer' option. Then set up a folder on the SD card called Garmin. Inside that folder make another called POI. Then copy the file to the POI folder on the SD card. Then use the SD card in your Kenwood unit...

Also looking back it appears all the folder names and filenames must be lower case.

ie. x:\garmin\poi\poi.gpi
