Why upgrade? Remote control, TTS, better battery, more maps, I sometimes go to those places but no so much recently, faster chip speed, better GPS chipset?

I noticed TT doesn't list the 930T any more on their UK site, I'll wait to see what happens.

Then you have answered your own question. I wouldn't wait too long, the 920's a bargain and won't be about for long and as for the 930, well it looks like that might be for the chop too.

Ordered from Dixons last Thursday. Just been informed it isn't due in until December 5th.

Found one on Handtec for £194.29 (inc std delivery) that should arrive on Thursday

You could not make it up ! Rolling Eyes

After the earlier email from Dixons with the 5/12 stock date, and AFTER I've replied saying please cancel, what do I get this evening but emails from Dixons (via the same email address I've replied to earlier) saying my order is now on its way. Why do they send these after it's too late to ring them?

And there is no way I'm paying to return it!

Just received the 920T from Dixons, thought I ought to say thanks to carl_the_cobler for pointing out the bargain and SCO7T for the discount codes.
Having read other posts it seems it might be best to leave it in the box until TomTom have issued a fix for the 8.3 software I have been reading about. Does that sound about right?

I'd use it, back it up first though!!

Maybe don't plug it into Home as your LMG won't start until you do that.

Then when all is tickety boo (when they say on here anyway), update it all.

Cheers

Carl

Yup, use it, enjoy, just don't launch HOME until they've sorted 8.3. You can still take a backup via your PC but if/when HOME starts, exit it.

Thanks for the advice Darren, Mine is waiting for me to get home tomorrow and I was debating what to do about the upgrade/LMG stuff. Think I'll just back up and install the PGPSW camera database and leave it at that for the time being.

Does leaving the TT speed cameras on the device affect the PGPSW database at all?
