How good is map display?

I am considering buying a 2110 max or 2210.
A lot of the features are attractive, but the only screen dumps I have seen show little map detail with everything in shades of grey: rather dull and difficult to read at a glance.

How do users rate the map display compared to other makes?

My previous system, a MyGuide 3100 with IGO 2006 software showed an aerial view of the map when no manoeuvres were imminent, automatically zooming to a close-up view on approaching a manoeuvre.

Does the Navigon display auto-zoom to show close-ups of junctions or roundabouts etc. when approaching them? Is this what reality view pro does?

MN6 was the first time when they switched from strong primary to weaker pastel. Now I am used to it I prefer it to the coarser TomTom display.
