Offline Maps PDA

Hi,

Looking for some advice, I have an Acer N30 with a bluetooth GPS receiver and I am looking for a way to use it for nagivation.

I have TomTom installed, but would also like to be able to have a GoogleMaps type application where I can freely move around streetmaps to aid with navigation.

GoogleMaps would be perfect but I have no data connection whilst out and about, so not an option.

I have tried MGMaps but have found java under Windows Mobile 2003 quite buggy, also downloaded Memory-Map, which I cannot find any free maps for.

Any help would be appreciated.

You won't find free maps for MemoryMap (at least not legally). Depending on the version you have you can create your own maps from scanned/captured images.

With TT you get street level mapping which should do what you want as they use the same base data supplier as Google Maps (i.e. Teleatlas). presentation format may be different I guess.

If you want topological mapping then you will have to buy the maps for MemoryMap. You won't get any routing capability with MM - but you can create and navigate to waypoints.
