You may call me crazy, but hear me out.. ever since having to spend over £1000 for new front suspension last year, I've been wondering whether it would be possible to create a database of speed bumps & then instruct a nav system to avoid them. Driving over 40 bumps daily was almost certainly the cause of my car's breakdown, and I consider them to be a navigational hazard just like speed cameras - they are one more thing taking my attention away from the more important task of driving.
Ok you can call me crazy now... |

Whilst it would be possible to create a POI category (if enough people thought it useful and contributed the locations) - the navigation devices do not have an "Avoid POI" function you could only sewt it up to warn in advance, this idea was requested quite some time ago but it never got anywhere as the lack of avoid POI makes it somewhat useless - Mike |

Agreed in principal, but it would be extremely useful for planning a journey if you have a really low slung sports car that occasionally scrapes across the top of them. _________________ Robert Brady |

Yep agree, I recently let my beloved Manta GTE go, had her from new 20 odd years ago now - sob.
Anyway, very low, especially as I had the suspension lowered, gas adjustable shocks, slotted discs etc. Had to be very careful of the exhaust (one cost me 450 quid) as it would scrape on just about any speed bump. Not to mention the front spoiler, with the spots.
In the end I was adding 5 mile detours just to go to the shops!
Got a people carrier now, so not a problem. Still miss the Manta though. _________________ Triumph Tbird 1700. And now a Bonnie T100. |

I agree with having a POI for this. It would be really useful as my car is lowered and keeps on scraping. |

this would be a good idea but i can see 1 draw back some areas including mine have speed cushions on some of the roads and at frequent intervals there is an easy get around just list the roads that have speed restrictions on them speed bumps or cushions _________________ whats on your sat nav |
