Hi could someone help with this. I have a one XL europe and I do not have enough free space on the device to install Navcore 8. What are my options? I thought I would delete some unused voices but I can't find the files.
All the best Steve

Interested in knowing whether you've now managed to update....?

What's different in your Home Menus now like mate... as mine's the same.

Menu names have changed (maybe only slightly in some cases), menu positions within HOME have changed.

I wasn't playing too much attention, so I can't give exact details - suffice to say I know there ARE changes

Mmm.

I still have:

File-
Log Out
Close

Tyre-
Run tyre

Device-
Disconnect Device
Change Device

Tools-
TomTom Home Preferences
Tom Tom Map Share - (plus same sub menus under it)
Use Latest Map Guarantee
TomTom Home Add Ons

Help-
Help Topics (F1)
Check for TomTom Home Update
Read Manual For my Go
Online Support
-----------------

About TomTom Home

Hope this is of use in checking against yours, but it's the same they have been since this version of Home, plus the minor incremental predecessor, which in itself, also included support for Tyre.

Cheers.

Shad, I could be wrong, but I think GPS_fan may have been referring to the menus in the on-screen emulator in Home, not Home's own menus.

My traffic via GPRS is working normally so far after the upgrade.

Apart from the few changes mentioned elsewhere, the one other thing that has noticably changed (not for the better) for me is the way my device connects to my pc. I am now having to unplug the charger from the USB port and plug back in again in order for the pc to recognise the device and for the device to ask if I want to connect to computer.

In other words, do you think my Go720 with v7.15 maps going to support the new MapShare options for example?

Yes it does, just changed some speed limits and altered some right turns.

EDIT: Also Home is still only offering v7.481 to me. Am I missing something?

Had the same, had to install the V7.481 update before it would let me have the V8.010 update.

The compass itself isn't as good as v7, but if it's the heading you want select direction in status bar and this gives your heading in degrees and compass heading (eg 45º NE)

Change Preferences | Status bar preferences (page 4 of 8) | Direction (second page)

Has anybody else tried correcting/adding a speed limit?

I tried correcting one speed limit to 30mph and, in MapShare, it's showing as 30mph but the speed limit in the status bar is showing as 29mph.

It's easy to go back in and reverse a blocking/unblocking or turn instruction, but you can't remove a speed limit because it requires a number to be added.

Without restoring my 720 from a recent backup, is there any way of removing MapShare updates?

I've raised a question with TomTom about this ridiculous speed limit error, and urge everyone else to do the same.

Thanks, Anita, I thought it was just me.

The annoying thing is that there's no way of reversing it without a restore (unlike other MapShare corrections) GRRRRRRR

Thanks.

Raise a question with TomTom. I have, and hope if enough people complain they may reinstate it in a future update.

Well I have updated my TomTom 720 to 8.010 and I have lost "Kate" and her computer directions (etc). However Jane still works normally!

I subsequently reloaded the latest version of Kate - so it's certainly installed, but I can't activate it through the preference selections.

Has anyone else had this problem or got any suggestions to get Kate going again? Thanks.

Hmm. I wonder if it's just the 30mph that goes wrong? I have just added a 30mph speed limit to my home street and it shows 29 in Demo mode. I earlier altered M5 Junc 22 southwards to 70mph and that shows correctly in Demo mode.

I realise they are rhetorical questions, but why did this happen? What sort of testing do TomTom do before releasing anything?

Differences I have noted with my 920T are huge joy that at last it switches on when I press the power button (maybe that means they've stopped it switching itself back on again randomly??) and the phone not connected icon has changed. Yippeeeeeeeeeeee!! Please, please, please let it also cure my hands free crashing, which has now deteriorated to crashing many many times a day (I've started carrying another mobile phone paired to another TomTom, so that I can quickly get back to whomsoever has been cut off by the latest crash).

Yipeeeeeeee.
The upgrade to version 8.010 now provides delay times for the traffic info using the RDS receiver. Still no idea what the colours relate too but now I can use it am sure it wont take long to figure it out.
