A couple of question to the 930 owners. As far as I understand lane assistance consits of two items. One is the static screen, other
multiple arrow on blue status bar.

Is it possible to turn of the static screen but have the multiple arrows
to appear.

If the answer is yes, then the second question/issue

Multiple arrows and vertical status bar. I haven't seen any single screenshot
with them. Is it possible to have that kind of setup ?

I am afraid it doesnt answer my question. I havent seen any "lane separation" and vertical status bar screenshot. So is it possible
or not ?

I'd like to see how lane separation information will look like when I have
that kind of status bar

not the typical horizontal one at the bottom, as each screenshow posted here.

You won't find any screen shots of the display when setup this way as the device cannot do it.

If you leave "Show Lane Images" enabled when using a vertical info bar the screen will display the reality view and the lane assist arrows depicted in the "normal" horizontal layout, once the junction has been completed the screen reverts back to your map display 2D or 3D with the vertical info bar on the right.
When you disable the "Show Lane Images" with the info bar set to vertical mode you get nothing.

This is understandable as the width is insufficient to show up to 6 or 7 lane arrows when set to vertical mode, the choice is yours, leave the "Show Lane images" enabled which is fine where junctions are mapped to display this way, or use a horizontal layout with "Show Lane Images" disabled with this latter option you get the Lane Assist without the fancy pictures.

The x30 units are less wasteful with the available vertical screen area than the previous devices, at least 7MM of display area is made available for the map by removing the road name from the lower portion of the screen - Mike

Thanks for clarificaton. As for vertical bar and lack of space, they could make the arrows to appear similar way to the "quick access" (green arrow) button.

Last question is how lane assist (arrows) and lane images relate to each other. For example when having both options turned on is it possible to have
the situation that the arrows will appear but the lane image will not be generated or are these two options connected, ie. every junction that have the arrows (lane info in mapdata) will make the lane image to appear (if turned on of course).

I differentiate between the two display modes by referring to them as "Lane Assist" (the arrows) and "Reality View" (the fancy picture).

It is possible with the info bar set to horizontal to disable the reality view and still see the lane assist arrows. Not all junctions contain the information for the reality view and the Lane Assist function can be seen far more frequently.

Personally I find Lane Assist of far greater use than the reality view - as I said in another post, reality view never fails to cause the "wow, look at that" comment from passengers, but in use it provides little extra information that is of use to a driver IMHO - Mike
