Just picked this up, may be of use to some fellow walkers.
GPS Jamming in Cumbria during November
We've received notification of a GPS jamming exercise around RAF Spadeadam near Kielder Water and the border between Cumbria and Northumberland.
This is scheduled to take place between 0900 and 1600 during the period 28 November and 9 December 2011 (weekdays only).

| How effective is this jamming ? Does it completely block the signal or just degrade it ? |
