Hi,
Have had a look around and sorry I can't find anything obvious so I hope you dont mind a couple of "newbie" type questions...

Is it safe to delete "unused" files from the Nuvi (i.e. I'm not interested in the cyclops demo files (poi folder) nor different languages (text folder) or foreign voices (voice folder) ??

I use the excellent Speed Camera database here - you have 2 uk downloads - all or grouped by type and speed...do you have a just grouped by speed ? (I merge manually at present...)

As the manual is next to useless...is there a way when working out routes to add via's to force a particular way (i.e. home via M1 j8, via m25 J10 etc) when planning ??

Regards

You can download a POI file (amongst others) from here which contains all the Motorways Entry and Exit points. Use them as a via point. You need to select Type (Other CSV) at the top of the page and you'll find them under Transport - Motorway Entry and Motorway Exit. Load them with POILoader. Note you must load all your POIs (inc the speed cameras) in one go, so put them with your Speed Cameras and reload the lot again.

Others have but you do so at your own risk. Make a full backup of the unit first though.

There is Consolidated and Speed Zoned. Personally i think the Consolidated is the best choice for the unit. I'm not clear what you are merging and why....

PaulB2005 Thank you...

As regards the speed camers..I was just interested in knowing that they were for 20,30,40 mph etc rather than a gatso 30 or a specs 30..

I've loaded loads of other POI's (hence the file deletion quuestion to give me more room!!) and was just looking at trying to do some housekeeping to group things into less files...
