I have ordered a new VW Touran and cannot find out if the Sat-Nav will accept POI's -the info on both VW UK and Euro sites does not give any detail?
Can anyone help? _________________ rich |

Highly unlikely. I don't know of any factory fit system that can accept custom POIs 'yet'. I know this is a feature that the manufacturers are looking to add but lead-times for anything that is factory fit is measured in years, we had meetings with a few manufacturers over two years ago and still no sign yet! _________________ Darren Griffin |

If its the RNS510, with the in-built 30gb hard drive, then YES it will through a tool that has just been developed.
Have a search on www.briskoda.co.uk or any VW forum for RNS510.
(skoda/vw sat navs are the same (ish))

Keep us posted if you succeed. I know it's possible on some systems to burn a copy of the DVD with POI data injected into it but this does not offer warming functionality, just shows the POI on the map. _________________ Darren Griffin |

It's a Siemens/VDO system - http://pimp-my-nav.com is currently adding support for this system which should be available in the next few weeks. |

And pimp-my-nav is the app I was referring to, i just fail to see what benefit having an on-screen icon for a camera site is without any other form of visual or audible warning?
Surely unless you are constantly staring at the display you they are useless? _________________ Darren Griffin |
