|
|
Mapshare has decided it's going to work on my One XL now since I let Home upgrade to 2.1. However, the files it has downloaded are - in TomTom-speak - "Tiny".
In my UK & Ireland v6.75 map, I have had the following added...
DeletedPoi.dat - 1KB
ServerNameIndex.dat - 67KB
ServerLineIndex.dat - 123KB
MapSharePatch.dat - 119KB
There are also a few CAxxxx.ov2 files for the POI categories I've requested upgrading. These are 1KB each.
Do these files look the right size to others who have got it updated? Are there any checks I can make to "prove" that my map has been updated?
Thanks

On my 720 those 3 files are
166KB
453KB
370KB
Deleted POI, and CAxxx are less than about 5KB each. |

On my 720:
DeletedPoi.dat - 1KB
ServerNameIndex.dat - 174KB
ServerLineIndex.dat - 472KB
MapserverPatch.dat - 387KB
...but for me and Technic that's a W.Europe map so not surprising its different from yours (though I wonder why they are different from each other?)
The CA and PA files I have and DeletedPoi.dat are all showing as 1k, and Yes, in TomTom Home it has always said "tiny" every time.
We DO know for certain that Mapshare seems to have "lost" quite a few corrections that had been made already - still waiting for an explanation from TT (my enquiry has been referred up to the level 2 techs now). |

Thank you both. I feel I can assume it's working as expected. Have just had another update work so the files are 1-2K bigger than yesterday (may explain why you have different file sizes to each other).
I've seen a name correction for the local "motorway" though the road number is still wrong. (Aston Expressway in Birmingham has been a motorway since the 1970s I believe).
And thanks for the typo correction Andy.
