It is not officially supported so you might have problems, I have read elsewhere that WM6 causes problems when either soft or hard resets of the PDA are required - this changes the activation codes rendering your map unusable, not 100% sure about this as I have not tried it (yet) - but as the WM6 platform is, as yet unsupported I would be wary - Mike |

The changing device code issue on WM6 has only been seen on some 'cooked' ROM's as far as I'm aware (ie parts of the operating system ported from another device). you should be ok on an official version of WM6 that comes with HTC Touch ect.
I've been using a cooked WM6 ROM for ages and not seen the changing device code issue at all. TTN6 works rock solid. As mikealder says though, its not officially supported by tomtom so don't expect them to bale you out of any problems. |

I have a htc tytn running WM6 and tomtom 6 is stable on it. I had stability problems running tt6 on WM5 on the same device. I'm using a cooked rom at present, and I'm expecting to have to reactivate tt6 when the official htc rom is released.

A "cooked" ROM is something that is either made by yourself or others, but it is not assembled by the hardware supplier, as such there is a degree of risk involved in flashing a ROM to a new device, there is a wealth of information to be found on the subject over on This Forum, where you will find an entire section devoted to your specific phone.
I would not mess around flashing a ROM on a new device though until it has been widely reported to work, you probably won't need to either if all you want to do is get TT working on it.
The only risk you have, like I mentioned earlier is that WM6 is not supported by the software supplier, so if it goes wrong or you find the activation code changes each time you soft reset the device (not unheard of problems) TT will not help out leaving you with a costly useless package - Mike |

How did you get TTN6 installed on your WM6 device? I am trying to install from my card (via TomTom Home) and every time the install hangs. I never had problems installing before on WM5... |

I've just put TT6 on my XDA Orbit running WM6 and everything is cool apart from one thing. When you soft reset the device TT6 automatically starts itself. On older versions of TT you were able to rename the folder named "2577" which prevented this happening. It appears that on TT6 if you try this TT can then not find the maps......does anyone know of a work around????

Rob, I had the same problem. Instead of renaming the 2577 folder, just delete the 2 Autorun files contained in it. If that doesn't work, search your device for any other Autorun files that may be hiding in your Tomtom data folders (just make sure that you don't delete files belonging to other programmes instead!!). By renaming it, that just makes the system look in other locations under WM6.
I updated my XDA Orbit to WM6 2 days ago using the official O2 update, and after deleting these 2 files the auto-startup on reset has been removed. |

Does anyone have an update on this?
I looking to replace my ageing Garmin i3 and Nokia 6230i with an HTC S710 which I would like to be running TomTom6 with BT GPS kit?
Anyone got experience of this combination and or fresh news on TomTom 6 when used with WM6? _________________ -----------------------------------

The HTC S710 runs Windows Mobile 6.0 Standard Edition, used to be called Smartphone Edition on WM5, which means no touch screen support. Without a touch screen you can't really use TTN 6.0 even if it does run |
