I have a TT510 v6.525 and I'm trying to alter the menu structure of ie swap the Change Prefs on page 1of 3 with Clear route on page 1 of 4 etc, Ive looked up the topic etc in this forum and found some damn good info but it all seems to be for the earlier versions of TT x00any one out there tried to do the same thing

I realise that some of the info nn Open tomtom is there but as I said it seems to be for the early versions of TT x00 not for TT x10

ive done what is suggested in the forums and on Open Tomtom but its still a problem ??

any advice please
regards

nick

The menu structuring is the same throughout the TT range. It works all the way from the Classic to the x10 series.

You need a Folder with the name SdkRegistry and a File called TomTom.mnu

All you need to do then is to work out which Menu Items you want. You can have a bare minimum, up the the Maximum, and all points in between. Smile

If you haven't got a .mnu file then you will need to create one.

So, at what point does it become a problem?

I've just had a look at my backups on the PC. Neither of them (700 and One V2) contains such a folder and neither have a file .mnu . Does this mean I don't have a full backup?

Don't worry your back-up is fine, you will only have the files/ folders mentioned above IF you have created a custom menu for the device.
Typically this is when you install a third party application such as POICapture - Mike

Yes being one that likes to play, I looked for this file too and noticed it wasn't there. I then downloaded POI capture to see what the TomTom.mnu file looked like

I found a list of all commands in this thread, but since that's about 2 years old, I don't know if it can be fully relied upon?

I must agree with andydigital44 .... Smile

The tomtom menu designer from that site is simple to use and extremely effective .. I wouldn't be without it.

I did find that website being mentioned before, but it was just the domain name which gave a forbidden error

Thanks a lot

Ok folks I can do all this using gregorys kit but I had allready installed the brilliant Mobilnova media centre which I use daily. The prob is how do I get the 'media' of the installed app button onto gregs system to then be able to move it onto my front screen? I cant live with out my videos... :D

Drag the icon that says "User SDK App" on it to the position that you want it in your menu structure, as you do this you will get a pop up box asking you which add on program you want it to point to. If Mobilnova is the only add-on SDK program you have installed, then select SDK 1, if you have the camera capture software installed from this site as well then it may be SDK 1 or SDK 2 for example. Just keep trying by changing the number until you get the correct program icon showing up on your tomtom when you import the .mnu.

The above information is in the FAQ that is installed to the PC, have a look under "START" , "Programs" , "TomTom Menu Builder Manual".
